Women’s Golf Day Concludes at New Jersey National Golf Club
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – The New Jersey State Golf Association concluded its final Women’s Golf Day of the 2022 season on October 17 as 108 female golfers gathered at New Jersey National Golf Club for a day of companionship, food, drinks, prizes and of course, golf.
Jannie Pelcher, Diane Rowland, Kathy Larkin and Johanna Gavin from Panther Valley Golf & Country Club bested the sold-out field, collecting 42 stableford points in a best ball of four net format.
“Everybody had a birdie of some sort, a couple of eagles, pars. We didn’t have one single bogey, that was the key,” said Pelcher.
Despite a storm that deterred the remaining three holes of play, the ladies thrived on the 4,818-yard par 72.
“It’s great comradery and it’s always a bunch of fun,” explained Stephanie Moss of Women’s Golf Days. “Being with friends and being out on beautiful courses you normally wouldn’t be able to play is wonderful.”
Pelcher and Larkin are former champions, winning the Women’s Golf Day at Suburban Golf Club on August 8.
In the closest to the hole contest on No. 7, Judy Winter knocked in within six feet and four inches, receiving a foursome at New Jersey National, which was generously donated by the club.
