The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2023 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf.   • The Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance kicks off on Thursday at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Ind., with New Jersey natives Max Greyserman, Ryan McCormick and Chris Gotterup in the field. McCormick (No. 22) and Gotterup (No. 25) will look to secure a top-30 spot on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List and earn their PGA TOUR card. Greyserman (No. 8) has already secured his top-30 position.   • Nick Bova of Hamilton Farm GC took home the New Jersey PGA Fall Finale trophy on Tuesday following a three-hole playoff with 2022 champion Frank Esposito. Bova registered rounds of 74-67-68 209 to finish four under and take home the win following the playoff. (Click for more)
  • The annual NJPGA/NJSGA Celebration of Golf will take place on Thursday, Oct. 26, at Canoe Brook Country Club. The event will run from 6-9 p.m. with cocktails and passed hors d' oeuvres from 6:00-6:45 with dinner and program running from 6:45 - 9:00 p.m. (Click for more)
  • A rare scenario unfolded at The Legacy Club at Woodcrest last weekend when member, Drew Handler made a hole-in-one on Saturday on hole No. 17 from 145 yards with an 8 iron. The very next day, Handler followed it up with another ace on the same hole with the same club with just a yard change in distance.
  • The ArcMorris Autumn Golf Classic returns in 2023 on Oct. 23 at Basking Ridge Country Club. ArcMorris is a nonprofit that provides services for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The day will consist of a four-person scramble with a shotgun start as well as continental breakfast, boxed lunch, cocktails, buffet dinner, raffle and a silent auction. (Click for more)
