- Baltusrol’s Roddy McRae fired a two-under-par 34 on the back nine of the final round to win the 94th MGA Senior Amateur Championship on Tuesday at the Round Hill Club in Connecticut. (Click for more)
- Reigning Player of the Year Mark Costanza and Pat Wilson (both of Hamilton Farm) were co-medalists in yesterday's U.S. Open Local Qualifying at Green Brook Country Club. All seven players who qualified for the U.S. Open Sectional stage are New Jerseyans.(Click for more)
- Multiple reports indicate that Pine Valley Golf Club will allow female members. The exclusive South Jersey club, designed by George Crump, has revised its bylaws to include women. (Click for NJ.com story)
- Qualifying concluded this past Monday, May 3, for the 89th NJSGA Four-Ball Championship which will be held May 18-20 at Galloway National Golf Club. (click here for a recap)
- Golf Digest announces top-100 courses in the U.S. for 2021; Pine Valley, Baltusrol, Somerset Hills and Plainfield represent N.J. (click for more)
- Scotch Plains native John Pak, the second-ranked amateur golfer in the world, will represent the U.S. in the 48th Walker Cup this weekend at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida. Pak, a senior at Florida State, will be making his second ever appearance at the Walker Cup. In 2019, he earned three points (1-0 in foursomes and 2-0 in singles) to help Team USA defeat Team Great Britain and Ireland. The 2021 Walker Cup takes place Saturday and Sunday with 18 singles matches and eight foursomes (alternate shot) matches. (Click for more)
- Rutgers University senior Chris Gotterup finished tied for sixth last weekend at the Big Ten Championships. Gotterup, the 2019 NJSGA Player of the Year, shot a four-under-par 68 in the tournament’s final round to climb up the leaderboard and earn his second consecutive top-10 finish in the Big Ten’s signature event. Gotterup will learn his NCAA Championships fate when the field is revealed on the GOLF Channel at 2 p.m. today (May 5) (Click for more)
- The NJSGA will conduct a 36-hole U.S. Women’s Open Sectional Qualifier at Spring Lake Golf Club this upcoming Monday, May 10th. Two players will qualify for the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open at The Olympic Club. For a full list of Monday’s tee times, click here.
