  • Scotch Plains native John Pak leads Florida State men’s golf into the NCAA championships. Pak shot 8-under par (67-72-69) to finish fourth individually and help the Seminoles finish first as a team in last week’s NCAA Regional at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee. Pak and Florida State will begin their quest for a national championship this week at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, May 28-June 2. (Click for more)
  • Rutgers senior Chris Gotterup and Rider senior Austin Devereux competed in the NCAA Kingston Springs East Regional at the Golf Club of Tennessee last week. Gotterup, the 2019 NJSGA Player of the Year, finished tied for 20th, and Devereux, the 2020 NJSGA Amateur Champion, finished tied for 56th. (Click for more on Gotterup, and for more on Devereux)
  • Frank Esposito, teaching pro at Forsgate Country Club, and Jim McGovern, head pro at White Beeches Golf and Country Club, prepare to compete in the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship this weekend at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. (Click to follow)
  • Bill Hook, the Head Golf Professional at Knickerbocker C.C., fired a final round three-under par 69 to capture the 2021 Lincoln Charity Clambake. Hook birdied two of his last three holes to force a playoff, and then made another birdie to earn the victory. It was Hook’s second ever Lincoln Charity Clambake title. (Click for more)
  • PGA REACH Philadelphia recently announced its 2021 Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour Diversity Scholarship recipients, and three young New Jersey golfers received scholarships: Sophia Blair (Williamstown, N.J.), Gabriella Magno (Delran, N.J.), and Isabella Magno (Delran, N.J.). PGA REACH Philadelphia created the scholarship program to provide opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to participate on the Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour. (Click for more)
  • Wardlaw-Hartridge captured the 2021 NJSIAA Girls Golf Tournament of Champions team title, while West Windsor-Plainsboro North’s Katherine Lu took home individual medalist honors last week at North Jersey Country Club in Wayne. (Click for more)
  • Led by senior captain Colin Summers’ tournament-leading 63 (-7), Westfield earned its fourth ever NJSIAA Boys Golf Tournament of Champions team title last week at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington Township. (Click for more)
  • The LPGA elects Princeton University’s Director of Athletics, Mollie Marcoux Samaan, as its next Commissioner. Marcoux Samaan has served as Princeton’s athletics director since 2014, and will become the ninth commissioner of the LPGA since its formation in 1950. (Click for more)
  • The 42nd Annual Dennis Keelty Memorial Golf Classic is being held at Plainfield Country Club in Edison on Monday, June 21. The event supports the Hemophilia Association of New Jersey, which assists persons with hemophilia and their families. Celebrating its 50th year, the HANJ’s mission is to improve the quality of life for those with a bleeding disorder by providing access to highly qualified medical professionals and successfully proven medical regimens.
