The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2021 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf. • The John Shippen National Invitational began on Monday, June 28. The event is named after John Shippen, Jr., who was the first American-born golf professional and also the country's first Black golf professional. In 2018, he was inducted into the New Jersey Golf Association Hall of Fame’s Inaugural Class. (Click for details)
• Sam Goldenring claimed a tie for third (77-72-76) at the 66th Ike MGA Stroke Play Championship. Jack Wall (Brielle) and Austin Devereux (Brielle) earned the Ike Team Championship, given to the two players from the same club with the lowest combined score for 54 holes. (Click for details)
• Henry Angier of Frenchtown is competing in the 2021 North & South Amateur, which is taking place from June 29-July 3 at Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4. (Click for details)
• Tiya Chowdary (Belle Mead), Christine Shao (Green Brook), Angelina Tolentino (Mount Laurel) all competed in the Donna Andrews Invitational from June 27-29 at Boonsboro Country Club in Lynchburg, Virginia. (Click for details)
