The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2021 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf. • Chris Gotterup (Little Silver) and Jack Wall (Brielle) are competing in the 59th Northeast Amateur Championship Invitational, which will be played from June 23-26 at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, Rhode Island. (Click for more).
• Gotterup announced he will continue his collegiate golf career as a graduate transfer at Oklahoma University. Gotterup, the 2019-20 Big Ten Player of the Year and 2019 NJSGA Robert Housen Men’s Player of the Year, spent his four undergraduate years at Rutgers University. (Click for more)
• Gotterup also competed in the 68th Sunnehanna Amateur at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pennsylvania last weekend, where he finished tied for 7th (-3). (Click for details)
• A pair of local golfers are competing in the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship this week at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut: former Trump Bedminster golf pro Jim Herman and Scotch Plains native John Pak. (Click for more)
• Ami Gianchandani (Watchung) finished tied for 19th (+14) in the 106th Southwestern Amateur held on the Outlaw Course at the Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Noelle Maertz (Clark) also competed. (Click for more)
