The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2022 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf.   • Hunterdon’s Heron Glen Golf Course has been recognized for environmental excellence, gaining re-certification as an ‘Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.’ (Click for more)
  • Chris Gotterup of Little Silver is set to tee it up at the Barbasol Championship at Keene Trace Golf Club from July 7-10. (Click for more)
  • Ami Gianchandani and Kelly Sim are set to play in the prestigious North & South Women’s Amateur Championship at Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4. (Click for more)
  • Sim of Edgewater, qualified for the 2022 U.S. Women’s Amateur out of the Kishwaukee Country Club qualifier in Illinois. (Click for more)
  • Sarah Shao of Green Brook qualified for the 73rd U.S. Junior Girls Championship out of The Steel Club in Hellertown, Pennsylvania. (Click for more)
  • A slew of New Jersey junior golfers are competing in the AJGA Junior at Penn State. (Click for more)
  • Registration is open for the Central Jersey UA Tour at Eagle Ridge, which will run July 29, August 5, 19 and 30. Age groups for the 18-hole events will be 16-18, 13-15, 10-12 and girls. Contact the pro shop for registration 732-901-4900.
  • Registration is open for the Charity Challenge, set for Monday, August 29, 2022 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. It is a 10 a.m. shotgun with a four-man scramble followed by a post-reception in the Grand Ballroom. The event will build hope and a future for at-risk children in Santiago, Chile. (Click for more)
  • Tickets are now available for the 122nd U.S. Amateur at The Ridgewood Country Club and Arcola Country Club. (Click for more)
  • Volunteer opportunities are now available for the 122nd U.S. Amateur which include walking scorers, marshals/forecaddies, standard bearers, tee services, operations and caddie services. Young adults ages 16-21 are able to volunteer for free. (Click for more)
  • The LPGA Leadership Academy is headed to New Jersey on July 13-14, 2022 for girls ages 13-18. The Academy, which will take place at USGA headquarters is aimed at girls who have some experience in golf and an interest in improving confidence, communication, decision making, team and leadership skills. (Click for more)
  • The MGA Foundation, in partnership with Met Area clubs, will work through GOLFWORKS, its flagship internship program, will aid Ukranian State-side refugees enrolled at American colleges and universities who do not have a home country to return to this summer. Ukranian students as well as clubs looking to participate in this program should contact foundation@mgagolf.org.
