The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2022 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf. • Christopher Housen of Manasquan River Golf Club, Roger Hoit of Baltusrol, and Harris Podvey of Knoll Country Club will be competing in the 67th U.S. Senior Amateur Championship at The Kittansett Club in Massachusetts. (Click for more)
• Steve Saxe, Head Superintendent at Fiddlers Elbow Country Club was named 2021 AJGA Superintendent of the Year. (Click for more)
• Fiddlers Elbow is also hosting the K.J. Choi Foundation Junior Championship by SK Telecom on its River Course from August 22-25. A slew of New Jersey boys and girls are competing in the field. On the girls side, Derek Gutierrez (Cranford), Lance Hollingshead (Basking Ridge), Isaiah Williams (Flemington), Devan Patel (Madison), Liam Pasternak (Morristown), Tyler Lee (Franklin Lakes), Jun Chun (Old Tappan), Kevin Ha (Livingston), Barnes Blake (Westfield), Jayden Ko (Tenafly), Aaron Koo (Palisades Park), Liam Brandt (Chester) and Tate Esler (Westfield). On the girls side, Megan Meng (Pennington), Tanvi Samayam (Hillsborough), Sarah Shao (Green Brook), Vaidehi Shah (Bridgewater), Sammie Dolce (Florham Park), Madeleine Zang (Princeton), Rayee Feng (Short Hills), Inha A. Jun (Edgewater), Claire Lu (Edison), Anushka Sawant (Monmouth Junction), Samantha Galantini (West Orange), Ysabel Liu (Millburn), Kashish Malik (Marlboro), Olivia Pak (Fort Lee), Skylar Lee (Franklin Lakes), Taylor Sieg (Summit) and Jessica Yichen Zhao (Basking Ridge). • The 10th Annual Simpson Cup heads to Baltusrol Golf Club from August 28-31. It features a team of wounded veterans from the United States against a team of wounded veterans from the United Kingdom. (Click for more)
• The 57th Delaware Open Championship is underway, and Peter Barron III (Mays Landing) and Michael Brown (Maple Shade) are competing in the event at Plantation Lakes Golf & Country Club. (Click for more)
• Chris Gotterup (Little Silver) and Ryan McCormick (Middletown) are set to compete in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship from August 25- 28. (Click for more)
• The 107th Met Open is underway at Bethpage Black Golf Course is underway with a slew of New Jersey competitors in the field. (Click for more)
• Stone Harbor Golf Club was ranked 26th on the Top Ranked Private Club and Resort Patios across the United States. (Click for more)
• Several New Jersey golf clubs in Fiddlers Elbow CC (22), Glen Ridge CC (23), Navesink CC (52), Canoe Brook CC (60) and Laurel Creek CC (79) were ranked in the Top Ranked Club and Resort Culinary Experiences of 2022. (Click for more)
• Registration is open for the 12th Super-Senior Championship presented by NJM Insurance Group at Watchung Valley Golf Club. Registration closes at 5 p.m. on August 30. (Click for more)
