Wednesday Roundup - August 14, 2024

The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2024 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf. • Max Greyserman finished second at the Wyndham Championship, firing 16-under par, 264. Ryan McCormick finished t-12 as Chris Gotterup finished t22. (Click for more) 

• The Magnit Championship (Korn Ferry Tour) is set to get underway this week at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson. New Jersey natives John Pak of Scotch Plains and Morgan Hoffman of Franklin Lakes are in the field. Tickets are available. (Click for more) 

• Angelina Liang finished sixth at the AJGA Junior at Toftrees. (Click for more) 

• Several New Jersey junior golfers are competing in the Golf Performance Center Junior at Salem Golf Club in New York. (Click for more) 

• New Jersey golfers will be playing in the 109th MET Open Championship Presented by Callaway at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Connecticut August 20-22. (Click for more) 

• The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children is hosting a golf outing at Canoe Brook Country Club on September 25. The SFIC provides children in need with an opportunity to receive a high-quality education in a safe environment.  

• Outta Boundz will be hosting their “Mentor on the Green” program for youth and young adults at Eastlyn Golf Course in Vineland. Outta Boundz is a transformative, nationwide digital mentorship program. 

• Kids’ Chance of New Jersey is hosting an event at Scotland Run on September 30. Kids’ Chance of New Jersey is a 501c3 that provides scholarships to children. 

• The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation’s Jersey Shore Golf Tournament will be held on October 10 at Deal Country Club. For more information, please contact Bob Valvano at jerseygolf@mcsg.org.  

• Rutgers University Men’s Golf is hosting the 7th annual Hackberry Invitational on Friday, September 27 at the Rutgers University Golf Course. This event will celebrate the 88th year of the Men’s Golf program. (Click for more)  

• Spectum360 will be hosting their Annual Fore the Kids Golf Tournament on Monday, September 9 at Crestmont Country Club. Spectrum360 provides people with autism and those with related challenges the specialized programs and support they need. To register independently, the player will receive on-site brunch, dinner, and open bar access for $850. • On Monday, September 23, the West Morris Area YMCA will host their 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Panther Valley Golf and Country Club. This event will support the YMCA’s financial assistance fund. There are several opportunities to participate in the event.
