  • Jim Herman, a three-time PGA Tour winner and former assistant professional at Trump National - Bedminster, finished 53rd this week in the 85th playing of The Masters. In what was just his fourth-ever competitive round at Augusta National, the 43-year-old Herman fired a 2-under-par 70 on Friday afternoon to make the cut at The Masters for the first time in his career.   • Young women have the opportunity to apply for the WMGA Scholarship, which can provide funds for tuition, room and board, incidental fees, and books. The applicant must exhibit an interest in golf and reside in the area covered by the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association. Applications are due later than Friday, April 23. (Click for more)
  • Echo Lake's Pat Fillian and Derek McDonald teamed to fire a two-round total of seven-under-par 165 to win the 2021 New Jersey PGA Oxford Pro-Pro Championship which concluded yesterday at Galloway National Golf Club. (Click for more)

  • Two New Jersey teenagers competed in the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals last week at Augusta National Golf Club. In his second appearance in the tournament, Basking Ridge native Lance Hollingshead placed 3rd in the boys 14-15 age group, while West Orange resident Samantha Galantini finished 6th in the girls 14-15 age group.   • The Brendan Borek Endowed Fund and Hurrikanen’s Kids will team up for their 15th annual charity golf tournament at the Avalon Golf Club in Cape May Court House on Friday, May 14. Each foundation is focused on enhancing and supporting the lives of children and their families affected by pediatric cancer in Cape May County and Atlantic County.   • The Rutgers Women’s Golf Association is looking for new members. The league plays 18 holes Thursday mornings from April through October at the Rutgers University Golf Course, located at 777 Hoes Lane, Piscataway.
