Volunteers Sought For U.S. Sr. Women's Amateur At Hollywood G.C.
Hollywood Golf Club, which is hosting the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship Sept. 13-18, is seeking more than 125 volunteers to help in a variety of capacities. The deadline to apply is July 1. Information is available on the home page at www.hollywoodgolfclub.org
Volunteer support is needed for scoring, marshals, player registration, standard bearers and player registration.
Each volunteer is asked to work a minimum of three half-day shifts, with shift lasting about four hours. Morning shifts begin as early as 7:30 a.m., while evening shifts end by 7:30 p.m. Interested volunteers can either state their areas of preference for volunteer support or offer to work in any area needed. Shift schedules will be assigned one month prior to the championship, with one volunteer training session required in advance.
All volunteers, for a package price of $50, will receive a logoed golf shirt and hat, as well as lunch on each day worked.
This is just the second time Hollywood Golf Club has hosted a United States Golf Association (USGA) Championship – the first time was the 1921 U.S. Women’s Amateur. The club, which sits by the Jersey shore, is approximately 50 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia.
Interested volunteers should visit hollywoodgolfclub.org to find the application form, which must be filled out and returned no later than July 1. The form includes detailed information about the volunteer category responsibilities.
