Volunteer Now For 2016 PGA Championship At Baltusrol
The PGA of America announced today that applications for all available adult and junior volunteer positions for the 2016 PGA Championship are now being accepted at PGAChampionship.com.
More than 3,500 volunteers are needed as the PGA Championship prepares to make its second visit to Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey. The world’s best golfers will compete for the coveted Wanamaker Trophy, July 25-31, 2016.
“The PGA of America depends on the thousands of devoted and enthusiastic volunteers to make the PGA Championship operate smoothly every year,” said 2016 PGA Championship Director Ryan Cannon. “Volunteering is a great value and a wonderful way to experience the PGA Championship. We look forward to welcoming new and returning volunteers to be part of history, as the PGA Championship makes its second appearance at Baltusrol Golf Club.”
Junior and adult volunteer assignments are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Adult committee positions that may be available include: Admission Sales and Will Call, Corporate Hospitality Services, Transportation, Merchandise Operations, Marshals/Special Teams and Information Services.
Adult volunteers must be 22 years of age or older by July 25, 2016. Each adult volunteer will be required to work four shifts (approximately 16 hours) during the week of the Championship, and will be responsible for paying $185 for their volunteer uniform package, which provides the following:
• Volunteer uniform (custom Ralph Lauren golf shirt, headwear item and outerwear)
• Food & water vouchers to use at any on-course concession stand
• A copy of the Official 2016 PGA Championship Program
• Complimentary parking
• A one-time discount at The Championship Shops
Volunteers will also receive a personalized volunteer credential, which will provide access to the grounds all seven days of the PGA Championship.
Junior Volunteer Opportunities
Juniors ages 16–21 as of July 25, 2016, may volunteer for one of the following three committees: Standard Bearers, Monster Board and Leader Board Thru Board.
Each junior volunteer will be required to work three shifts (totaling approximately 12 hours) during the week of the 2016 PGA Championship. To help grow the game of golf, there is no charge for the volunteer uniform. Junior volunteers will receive the same benefits as adult volunteers (as listed above) including access to the grounds for all seven days of the PGA Championship.
