Update: Foursomes, Forecaddies now permitted
May 19, 2020 – Late Monday evening (May 18), Governor Murphy released Executive Order 147 which allows for additional relaxation of restrictions imposed from previous Executive Orders and those earlier outlined by the NJSGA. The full text of EO 147 is available by clicking here. Highlights, as they apply to golf, are as follows:
- Foursomes permitted as of Tuesday, May 19, 2020
- Forecaddies permitted as of Tuesday, May 19, 2020
- Golf driving ranges allowed to re-open Friday, May 22, 2020 at 6:00 a.m.
All of the above are contingent on golfers and facility employees practicing appropriate social distancing, as well taking proper cleaning, sanitizing, and hygiene measures.
The use of golf carts remains restricted to one rider at a time, except in limited circumstances (e.g., a cart may be shared with an immediate family member, caretaker, or another household member). Otherwise, no more than one person is permitted to occupy a golf cart at any one time.
