Trump National - Bedminster Victorious at 9th Senior Interclub Finals
BEDMINSTER, N.J. - The home team of Trump National Golf Club – Bedminster claimed the 9th Senior Interclub Finals on Tuesday afternoon.
The NJSGA Senior Interclub is a time to visit new courses, make new friends and get the competitive juices flowing. Over a six-week period, four teams meet each other in section-play matches to determine the winner of their section. The section champs met on Tuesday in the Senior Interclub Final at Trump National – Bedminster.
The champion was determined by 18 holes of Four-Ball stroke play, gross scoring.
The duo of Steve Scalfani and Larry Hannon led the way for the club, carding a 7-under par 65 en route to the title.
"I've had a great partner,” Sclafani expressed. “We have played together, we flow together, there’s a partnership. It makes it easy having to play with a great guy like Larry. We both played super and kind of fed off each other and our team really supported us and our captain supported us.”
The pair carded a blemish-free card highlighted by seven birdies.
"Knowing the course a little bit certainly helped,” said Hannon. “There were a couple putts out there where we understood how fast they really were going to be and you know, to be with a great partner and have a good day was just fantastic.”
The remaining six players in the Trump Bedminster team in Ed Walsh, AJ Karanikolas, Daniel Lavecchia, Alex SanMiguel, Nelson Lee and Paul Conklin helped lead the team to an even-par finish. The team bested the rest of the field by three strokes.
