O’Neill, the solo Garden State competitor to qualify out of Canoe Brook fired a blemish-free 8-under par 64 in the morning and followed up with a 1-under par 71 in the afternoon to earn medalist honors.

“I gave myself a lot of good looks because I was driving the ball in the fairway and had a bunch of wedges in,” O’Neill reflected. “I was able to roll some putts in, which is always great.”

The championship will be conducted August 15-21, 2022 at New Jersey's fabulous Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, N.J.

“I’m super excited, expressed O’Neill. "Being from New Jersey and be able to play my first U.S. Am in New Jersey is awesome and I can’t wait for it."

Gross, 15, shot the second lowest score of the day, a 7-under par 65 and followed that up with an even par 72 in the afternoon.

Sellers, a Rutgers University men’s golfer claimed the final qualifying spot, outlasting Nathan Han in a playoff. In the morning, Sellers shot a 1-under par 71 and then an impressive 4-under par 68 in the afternoon.

“Everything,” Sellers said of what worked on Wednesday. “I struggled with the driver a little before, but I figured that out and stayed steady throughout the day and just got it done.”

Tickets and volunteer opportunities are available for the 122nd U.S. Amateur Championship.
