Wednesday Roundup : The December Edition

The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” typically runs weekly through the golf season. With so much news and buzz in #thestateofgolf, the NJSGA has released its December edition of the Wednesday Roundup. 

  • A new slate of USGA Executive Committee members were announced for 2024 as New Jersey resident and former W.Y. Dear Junior runner-up Andrew Biggadike of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J was elected. A USGA Committee member since 2016, Biggadike has served as a Rules official at 13 USGA championships and six international team matches. Also, Cathy Engelbert of Berkeley Heights, N.J., has been nominated to serve a second three-year term on the USGA Executive Committee.   • Bill Murray, a former superintendent in the Monmouth County Park System has been named the recipient of the association’s 2024 Col. John Morley Award. Before retiring in 2022, he spent the last 26 years working within the seven Monmouth County courses. (Read More)
  • John Pak of Scotch Plains and Ryan Davis of Berkeley Heights advanced to the final stage of PGA TOUR Q-School. He will tee it up December 14-17 at Dye's Valley and Sawgrass Country Club for a chance to earn a spot on the PGA TOUR for the 2024 season. (Read More)
  • The USGA has selected the golf statistics app, Accel Golf, founded by two-time New Jersey Women's Amateur Champion Ami Gianchandani's to utilize for the U.S. National Developmental Program. (Read More)
  • Mark Costanza of Morristown earned a spot on the Global Golf Post All-Am Mid-Amateur Team in 2023. (Read More)
  •  Juliet Little, an LPGA Professional member in the Northeast Section received the 2023 Northeast Section Professional of the Year Award. (Read More)
  • David Reasoner, Head Professional at The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus has joined the PGA of America Board of Directors as District 2 Director. (Read More)
  • The 2023 Men's and Women's Dixie Amateur begins December 14 in Florida as New Jersey natives Sarah Shao, Vaidehi Shah, Mihir Roperia and Lance Hollingshead will compete. (Read More)
  • P.J. Boatwright Internships for the 2024 NJSGA season are open. The internships, which are paid, are focused on Communications, Tournaments and Operations and will run for either three or six months, depending on the candidates availability. (Read More)
