Ten Teams Advance to 92nd Four-Ball Championship

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. - Ten teams have advanced to the 92nd Four-Ball Championship after a qualifying round at Stanton Ridge Golf & Country Club on Monday. Erik Stevens and Chester Patterson turned in a 7-under par 64 despite some windy and chilly conditions. Teams with scores of 3-under par or better will move on to the championship, which will take place May 7-9 at Hollywood Golf Club.

The Hamilton Farm duo went 5-under on their first nine holes and proceeded to go 2-under on the back nine, highlighted by a birdie by Stevens on their final hole.

“We started out well,” Patterson reflected. “Erik hit it great all day from tee to green and he rolled in a few putts. We didn't really have too much stress going. We both kept it in play all day and a couple of putts fell in.”

“We play a ton of golf together, so it's a very comfortable pairing,” Stevens added. “We had a lot of fun and keep each other relaxed – it was a good day.”

The tandems of Zachary Pallis and Bradley Lankler, Kyle Krannich and Kyle Hartlaub, Brian Kilduff and Stephen Wentz finished right behind at 6-under par.

“We had a practice round yesterday with the same exact wind, so we had a good grasp of what was happening,” said Lankler. “There’s not too much trouble off the tee here, so you don't have to feel too scared – just pick your spot and hope the wind brings it into play.”

One more qualifier remains for the Four-Ball Championship with Legacy Club at Woodcrest hosting next on April 29.
