Team NJSGA Prepped for 100 Hole Hike on June 19

MADISON, N.J. - The New Jersey State Golf Association is eager to participate in its second 100 Hole Hike at Madison Golf Club on June 19. Seven New Jersey golfers in Rich Kennedy, John Gaona, Eric Houseknecht, Jeff Liebler, Barry Hyde, Will Vieser, and Hetal Patel will be hiking to raise money for the organization.

“It’s exciting to be a part of this initiative,” said Rich Kennedy, NJSGA Director, Handicapping & Membership Services. “The biggest thing is that the money is going to kids being able to play at New Jersey courses at an affordable rate. We want kids playing as much golf as possible. This is a great program.”

The seven golfers will begin at 6 a.m., walking and playing 100 holes throughout the day.

The hike will benefit Youth on Course, an organization that’s mission and program helps provide young people with affordable access to play golf, along with opportunities to learn and gain work experience in the industry.

Through the generosity of individual donors and support of organizations throughout the country, the successful Youth on Course program subsidizes rounds of golf for $5 or less for children between the ages of 6 through 18. Since its founding by the Northern California Golf Association in 2006, Youth on Course has grown to over 130,000 members and 1,700 participating member courses in the United States.
