UNION, N.J. - On Monday, August 14, 2023 some 40 golfers teamed up with Korn Ferry Tour playing in the Magnit Championship at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, New Jersey August 17-20 for the inaugural Doug Moses Pro-Am at Suburban Golf Club in Union, New Jersey.

The event, organized by Suburban’s Head Golf Professional, Mark McCormick, PGA, featured 7 Korn Ferry Tour players. Proceeds from the event were donated to the New Jersey State Golf Association’s Caddie Scholarship Foundation in memory of Doug Moses, a Suburban caddie who passed away suddenly on July 6, 2022.

Representing the NJSGA in the Pro-Am field were Eric Houseknecht (Past President and Board member), Steve Hennessey (former Board member), Jeff Liebler (Past President), and Frank O’Brien (Past President and Board member), who joined Caddie Scholarship foundation Director of Development Jeff Knapp and Mark McCormick for the check presentation.

Andrew LaBrutto, a Caddie Scholar from Suburban Golf Club who is entering his senior year at Fairfield University, is one of the 153 Caddie Scholars for the 2023-2024 academic year who benefits from the generosity of this event and from the support of clubs, individuals, corporations, and foundations.
