His stellar round was highlighted by solid putting and consistency off the tee.

"It was kind of two things, I got really hot with the driver and the putter at about the same time," Parker recalled. "I made a double bogey early, but then bounced back with an eagle. From there, I steadied the ship and made a bunch of 10 foot putts for birdie that really got the round going.

He finished his front nine at 4-under (31), after carding in an eagle and four birdies on the front nine and two more birdies on the back nine.

“My mental game was really good today. I stayed focused, confident and kind of happy throughout the round." Parker explained. "I didn't get too bummed out when I hit a bad shot and would just recover really well. So what I'm trying to focus on moving forward is the mental game.”

Parker and 12 others out of Burlington now advance to the 122st Amateur Championship at Manasquan River Golf Club from July 10-12.

The next qualifier is Tuesday, June 13th at Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth.
