NJSGA to Host Three Caddie Training Clinics in April
The New Jersey State Golf Association is hosting three Caddie Clinics this Spring. The one-day caddie clinics are scheduled for Thursday, April 8 at Rumson Country Club in Rumson, N.J., Thursday, April 15 at Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell, N. J., and Thursday, April 22 at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J.
The free two-hour clinics are for interested high school and college students. The event is open to young men and women in New Jersey who are interested in caddying and for beginner caddies who may need a “refresher” before their first loop of the season.
Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, the size of each class is LIMITED to 16. All participants will be asked to follow the NJSGA COVID-19 protocols which will be provided to attendees in advance of the clinic.
Those who attend a NJSGA Caddie Clinic will receive a certificate of attendance.
“The Caddie Clinics provide a great introduction to caddying,” said Bill King, NJSGA Director of the Caddie Scholarship Foundation who helps with the training. “Many of our NJSGA member clubs have caddies and the clinics help the young people become involved in the game of golf and hopefully a game that they can enjoy for a lifetime. The clinics also let them know about the NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Foundation which rewards an average of 150 New Jersey caddies with college tuition grants each year.”
