NJSGA Set to Host 98th Stoddard Trophy Matches at North Jersey CC
WAYNE, N.J. - The 98th Stoddard Trophy Match will take place Monday, July 1 at North Jersey Country Club, hosted by the New Jersey State Golf Association. This one-day triangular match play event between the NJSGA, Westchester Golf Association, and Long Island Golf Association features six alternate-shot, two-player team matches in the morning and 12 singles contests in the afternoon. The 12-player NJSGA team, features current and former champions.
The event began in 1922 at Morris County Golf Club and was won by the Westchester Golf Association. The NJSGA won for the first time the following year at Lido Country Club, the first of its series-leading 43 victories.
In 2023, the NJSGA finished in second, just 4.5 points behind Westchester for the second-straight season.
The NJSGA looks to win the competition for the fifth time in eight years after victories in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2021. The Stoddard Trophy matches were not played in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
