NJSGA Partner St. Kitts Spared By Hurricane; Donate To Caribbean Relief Funds
St. Kitts & Nevis, NJSGA Official Sponsor and Travel Partner, was largely spared by Hurricane Irma. Air and seaports are open and all resorts and tourism activities, including golf, on both islands resumed normal operations within a couple days following the storm. All events St. Kitts & Nevis is promoting through their partnership with the NJSGA remain scheduled as planned.
NJSGA members interested in providing assistance to Caribbean destinations hit hardest by the storm can visit the two charitable support sites noted in the statement below:
A Note from St. Kitts Tourism Authority:
Gratefully, St. Kitts was virtually unscathed by Hurricane Irma, and our tourism providers are open for business. As we resume normal operations, we continue to keep those who have been more severely impacted by Irma in our thoughts and prayers. As friends of the Caribbean, should you wish to donate to the recovery efforts of those states most damaged by the hurricane, two official Caribbean Relief Funds are:
The Caribbean Tourism Recovery Fund at www.tourismcares.org/caribbean
The Caribbean Tourism Association Hurricane Relief Fund at www.gofundme.com/hurricane-relief-fund-cto
St. Kitts sponsored the NJSGA Ultimate Team Event at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson on August 28. The champions of the event won a free, all-expenses paid trip for four including their club pro to St. Kitts to compete in the 8th Annual Admirals Cup Pro-Am, the islands’ signature golf event. In addition to the Admirals Cup Pro-Am, the St. Kitts and Nevis Couples Golf Classic takes place Nov. 7-11.
