NJSGA Conducts U.S. Amateur Local Qualifier

MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Thirteen individuals advanced to the final qualifying stage for the 124th U.S. Amateur Championship after an 18-hole local qualifier at Forsgate Country Club on Thursday. Of the 13 golfers, five hail from the Garden State. 

Barnes Blake of Westfield set the pace, firing a 4-under par 67. Blake, 19, turned in seven birdies on his round.

Those advancing shot even-par or better on the 6,790-yard par 71. Final qualifying, also over 18 holes, will take place at 19 sites from July 15 to July 31. 

The 124th U.S. Amateur Championship will be contested at Hazeltine National Golf Club from August 12-18.
