NJSGA Celebrates AAPI Heritage Month at Neshanic Valley
NESHANIC STATION, N.J. - The New Jersey State Golf Association celebrated Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month on Thursday, May 2 at Neshanic Valley Golf Course.
Highlighted by a warm and sunny day, golfers had the opportunity to participate in a clinic led by Neshanic Valley Head Golf Professional, Fred Glass. Participants then enjoyed a lunch buffet prior to an 18-hole round. In order to accommodate all golfers, three formats were played throughout the day; Callaway Scoring, Individual Net Scoring and Best Ball of Four.
The afternoon concluded with a post-round reception with prizes, dinner and conversing.
The NJSGA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee developed the AAPI Heritage Month Celebration. Initial areas of focus for the DEI committee include youth golf, women’s golf, adaptive golf and forming close relationships with diverse groups around New Jersey in which golf plays an important role.
