N.J. Pro Brett Jones Joins PGA Tour Brother At PGA Championship

The last time that Matt and Brett Jones played a competitive round in the same field was nearly a decade ago at the Jacob’s Creek Open Championship in Adelaide, Australia, a regular stop on the PGA Tour of Australasia. The event was “co-sanctioned” by the Nationwide Tour in the United States, meaning that those who finished in the money had a chance to move up to the PGA Tour.
Brett was a club professional, while Matt, his brother, had just turned pro after an all-American season at Arizona State. Trying to move up the professional ladder, the brothers from Australia entered the two-spot Monday qualifier for Jacob’s Creek.
Matt won the first spot. Brett took the second.
“This, though, is a whole other level,” Brett said last week. Brettt is the head professional at Due Process Stable in Colts.Neck, New Jersey.
They will be among the 156 players vying for the final major title of the men’s season.
