Four New Jersey Golfers Advance to Match Play at 123rd U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Four female golfers hailing from the Garden State have advanced to the match play portion of the 123rd U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at Bel-Air Country Club in California.  

Pacing the New Jersey contingent, Samantha Galantini (West Orange, N.J.) and Megha Ganne (Holmdel, N.J.) both posted top-25 finishes in the stroke play portion of the championship. After an opening round 74 (+4), Katie Li (Basking Ridge, N.J.) bounced back in the second round, shooting a 1-under par 69 to make the cut by one stroke. Megan Meng (Pennington, N.J.) survived a 10-for-9 playoff on Wednesday morning to advance to the match play.  

Ganne posted one of the lowest rounds of the second day at Bel-Air, manufacturing a 3-under par 67 to climb up the leaderboard.

Madeleine Zang, medalist at the 2023 New Jersey Women’s Amateur Championship closed out her first appearance in the U.S. Amateur, shooting back to back rounds of 75.
