New Jersey Defends Home Turf in 34th Senior Challenge Matches

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. – The New Jersey State Golf Association won the 34th Senior Challenge matches at Baltusrol Golf Club on Thursday.

For the second time in three years, New Jersey won the Senior Matches, defeating the Golf Association of Philadelphia, Maryland State Golf Association and Delaware State Golf Association.

Each Association’s team score took the best six of eight competitors representing each association. The New Jersey contingent, made up of Roddy McRae, Harris Podvey, Michael Guli, Merv Smith, Stephen Boyd, Joseph Roeder, Morten Gotterup and Adam Armagost combined for a total score of 450, besting the Golf Association of Philadelphia by two strokes. McRae, who was recently elected as the newest NJSGA President, led the way with a score of even-par, 72, on the famed Baltusrol Lower Course.
