Metedeconk National Site Of Third Member Golf Day
A full, sold-out field of 112 golfers, tying the record for most golfers at a Member Golf Day event, was in force at renowned Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, N.J., on Monday, August 4.
“There is a lot of excitement and anticipation from all the participants of playing a course as esteemed as Metedeconk National,” said Rich Kennedy, NJSGA Director of Handicapping and Member Services.
“This is a great venue, and were lucky enough to have a really nice day to play golf here,” Kennedy said. “This is what it’s all about. We have NJSGA members from all over the state partaking in this event.”
Metedeconk National was serving as the third Member Golf Day venue, following Trump National-Philadelphia and Raritan Valley. Three Member Golf Days remain on the NJSGA schedule – all in October.
Remaining events include Upper Montclair C.C. (Oct. 7), Hidden Creek G.C. (Oct. 14) and Rockaway River C.C. (Oct. 21). All events cost $125 per golfer and include greens fee, cart, lunch, prizes and post-golf reception.
Monday’s competition was Four-Ball Net scoring (Better ball of partners).
“This is a phenomenal opportunity for the municipal-course golfer, a chance to play these great courses,” said Paul Ade of Eatontown, who plays at Hominy Hill and takes part in at least one Member Golf Day per year. “It’s such a no-brainer for the price and a chance to see the best golf clubs in the state.”
