Metedeconk National Golf Club Claims 7th Senior Interclub Championship
WEST ORANGE, N.J. - Metedeconk National Golf Club came out victorious in the 7th Senior Interclub finals, edging Baltusrol Golf Club by six strokes at Essex County Golf Club on Wednesday, October 20.
"Our four teams all played incredibly well," said Bob Manzo of Metedeconk. "Our B teams shot the lowest aggregate scores of the other B teams, which is really hard on this type of golf course. My partner, Pete Harnisch played great and we were thrilled to be here."
Metedeconk claimed its second trophy, also winning in 2017. Baltusrol notched its third consecutive runner-up finish.
"The club did a wonderful job and we thank the NJSGA for everything you guys do," said Manzo.
In the tournament's format of four-ball, the Metedeconk pair of Manzo and Harnisch shot an impressive two-over par 73 to lead Metedeconk to victory.
Each year Sectional Play matches are played in September and early October. Four clubs square off against each other in each section and the Sectionals advance to the Championship.
