Meng, who won the NJSIAA Girls Championship earlier this season credited her victory to her putting.

“The last two days I was putting pretty well,” Meng recalled. “It felt good.”

On the boys side, Rayhao Feng of Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club took down Ryan Klarreich on the first playoff hole to hoist the W.Y. Dear Trophy. Feng shot a second round 1-over par 71 on the 5,815-yard course.

Similar to Meng, Feng acknowledged that his putting was the recipe for success.

“I mostly had really good putting today,” said Feng. “I drained a few putts that were pretty long, but there was one putt that I think should have went in. It was about a 10 foot putt and it was breaking in, but it straightened out at the end and it just lipped out.”

Overall, three other girls in Tolentino (-4), Samantha Galantini (-2) and Rayee Feng (-1) broke par for the two-round tournament alongside Meng.
