Member Golf Day Registration Opens on Thursday, May 20

May 13, 2021 - At long last, registration will open on Thursday, May 20 for three early summer New Jersey State Golf Association Member Golf Days (MGD). As usual, some of New Jersey’s finest clubs highlight the schedule – and as always, these events are open to women and men that are members of the NJSGA.

Those interested in entering a MGD must first have a NJSGA/Golf Genius event account and profile. Anyone who played in a NJSGA MGD or tournament in 2020 already has an account, and when logging into the system, should do so as a “returning user”. A person who did not compete in a NJSGA MGD or tournament in 2020 will have to first create an account/profile, and begin the registration process as a “new” user. In the case of team event, both (or all) team members must have a Golf Genius account. (Click here to access the new user, profile creation page. Note: a valid GHIN number is required.)

The Member Golf Day season will begin at the superb Essex Fells Country Club on Monday, June 28. Essex Fells is regarded as one of the state’s classic courses; the club is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year – and just one week after the MGD, will be hosting the 120th NJSGA Amateur Championship. Golfers who enjoy true championship conditions and first-class amenities are in for a great day at the first MGD of 2021. This is a two-player team event with Stableford scoring and the entry fee is $290 per team. Entries open on Thursday, May 20.

New Jersey National Golf Club in Basking Ridge makes its MGD debut this summer, as the magnificent club will host on Monday, July 19. Known for its excellent conditions and challenging layout, this MGD will also be a two-player team event (Stableford scoring) with a team entry fee of $290. One new aspect of this event is that non-NJSGA members are also eligible to participate; in this case, an additional $30 charge will be applied. This $30 will go toward establishing a NJSGA membership – making for a great bargain.

Another club making its MGD debut is Copper Hill Country Club in Ringoes. Located in southern Hunterdon County, Copper Hill is a beautiful, parkland style course which has hosted numerous NJSGA tournaments in recent years. Similar to the N.J. National MGD, non-NJSGA members are eligible to participate (and obtain NJSGA membership) for an additional $30. This MGD will be on October 13; registration opens on September 16.

Once again, The Ridge at Back Brook will host two MGDs this year; the first on July 26 and the second on September 27. The entry process for these will be different than others, as both will be held through a lottery system. Details on the lottery process will be announced shortly, and those interested are encouraged to visit NJSGA.org for updates. The lottery for the first MGD at the Ridge at Back Brook will open on June 17.
