Leveilles Win Father & Son
LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. In a tight race at the 87th Father and Son Championship, the team of David and Brian Leveille from New Jersey National prevailed over a strong field with a gross 70 on the par-72, 6,337 yard Sea Oaks Golf Club. The Leveille team edged out Tom and Danny McCreesh of Plainfield West on a match of cards.
The McCreesh’s strong net performance, a 7-under par 65, secured them the net division win. Rod and Chris Donnelly took runner-up in the net division with a 66.
By virtue of the McCreesh’s net win, the runner-up in the gross championship was the team of Kerry and Matt Mucci from Montclair G.C. with an even-par 72.
The Father and Son format is selective drive/alternate shot for 18 holes, with both gross (championship) and net divisions played on the same day. The event is sponsored by McRae Capital Management of Morristown.
