Lepone, Feng Pace Boys Championship; Match Play Set for Junior Girls’ Championship

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Luke Lepone of Hackensack Golf Club and Rayhao Feng of Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club lead the 54th W.Y. Dear Boys Championship at Mercer Oaks Golf Course East. Aphrodite Deng is atop the leaderboard in the 70th Junior Girls’ Championship firing 6-under par 66.

Lepone and Feng combined for five birdies on the 6,074-yard course. Feng looks to earn his second Boys Championship title after winning in 2022. 

Deng totaled eight birdies for the day. Beginning on No. 11, Deng tallied four consecutive birdies to stretch her lead. 

Following Lepone and Feng is Jack Davidson of Canoe Brook Country Club at 1-over par 72. On the girls’ side, Danielle Higbee and Jaqueline Zhang are at even-par 72.  

Both sides will continue to play on Tuesday at Mercer Oaks Golf Course. A winner will be determined in the Boys Championship following one more 18-hole stroke play round. 

On the girls side, the low eight scorers have advanced to the match play portion of the championship. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be contested on Tuesday and the final match will be played on Wednesday.
