Joseph Roeder Leads Round One Of The 59th Senior Amateur Championship
Joseph Roeder, of Little Mill Country Club, took the lead in today’s 59th Senior Amateur Championship during his first time ever at Glen Ridge Country Club. Roeder joked that his inexperience with the course helped him play well, saying he “didn’t know where any of the trouble was.”
Knowing that Glen Ridge did not have a range, Roeder stopped at Metedeconk National, where he is also a member, to practice early this morning. Although he and the rest of today's players agree that No. 18 was extremely challenging, Roeder says that the “The greens here run really nice, and the course is beautiful.”
Roeder will return tomorrow for his second appearance at the Senior Amateur Championship.
