Apostolico, 23, bested the field by two strokes.

"I just had to pick my lines and try to visualize the shot I wanted to hit and hit the shot the way I visualized it," Apostolico reflected. "That’s pretty much it. Simple."

He finished his front nine 1-under (34), before carding three birdies on the back nine for a combined six birdies on the day.

“I've been playing in these qualifiers for years now," said Apostolico. "They're very fun to play and full of great competition. To win one of these tournament would definitely mean a lot. I qualified in 2019 to the State Open at Trump and it was a blast playing there. It would be great to play in another Open and have that much fun again.”

Apostolico and 22 others now advance to the 103rd Open Championship at Hackensack Golf Club from July 24-26.

The next qualifier is Monday, June 26 at Preakness Hills Country Club in Wayne.
