Inside the Gates: A Unique Look Into New Jersey’s Private Clubs
KENILWORTH, N.J. - It’s not everyday that you can see some of the most top ranked golf clubs in the Garden State at the click of a button. Cousins Frank and Mike Fasano, founders of Golficity, set out to deliver viewers just that.
Golficity, a media brand that has garnered over 183K followers on Instagram, does much more than visiting golf courses. They talk equipment, instruction, golf news and more.
"We started this company over 10 years ago just as a passion to follow our journey with the game of golf -- learning it, exploring it and having some fun with it,” said Frank. “Since we're right here in New Jersey, we really wanted to showcase some of the great golf that we've gotten the chance to experience here in the state that I don't think enough people see or are aware of. It's remarkable that we have what's widely considered the number one golf course in the world right here in New Jersey.”
“We’re trying to create a community of people,” Mike started. “It doesn't matter how skilled you are at golf -- if you're out here having fun, that's what we're all about.”
Their newest video series, Inside the Gates takes you inside some of the top-rated courses in not only New Jersey but also the country. So far, Frank and Mike have hit Canoe Brook Country Club, Plainfield Country Club, Mountain Ridge Country Club and Essex County Country Club. The duo brings you alongside them, playing 18 holes, talking with the golf professionals on staff, historians and more.
"There are so many other incredible golf courses that we don’t see enough of the light of day and we wanted to go in and really uncover what makes them great and a big part of that is the people and the stories that are there,” Frank explained.
"There are some things that no one's ever seen before and we were able to get them on camera for the entertainment,” Mike added.
They kicked off the series in September at Canoe Brook Country Club, and since then, the duo has had no shortage of entertaining adventures on and off the golf course. The history that comes into play is one of a kind, too.
"We both enjoy history,” Frank commented. “Both passions are colliding here. We love golf, we love creating this type of content where we get to share that. We would see certain things or historic items that we hadn't seen or heard of and we lit up. We’d both point at each other and say did you see that? How cool is that?”
Inside the Gates gives viewers an opportunity to see much more of these private facilities than meets the eye.
"Some of these golf courses keep incredible records,” said Frank. “They have so much great history, so that was the motivation to do this and to really feature the great golf here in New Jersey.”
