Inaugural Women’s Golf Day Set for June 14 at Spring Brook
MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The New Jersey State Golf Association is excited to offer women the opportunity to spend a day at the breathtaking Spring Brook Country Club for the inaugural Women’s Golf Day on Monday, June 14.
The event will include a putting clinic, lunch, golf and a cocktail reception following play. Motivational speaker and LPGA teaching professional Debbie O’Connell is on tap to speak at the cocktail reception. O’Connell, a New Jersey native is the author of the bestselling book, “Golf Positive! Live Positive!”. The life coach is an advocate for development and self-esteem. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with minors in broadcasting and business from Western Kentucky University.
Additionally, Fairmount Country Club’s Director of Instruction, Karen Noble will conduct the pre-event putting clinic. Noble competed on the LPGA tour for eight years then went on to teaching professionally at Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y., Hamilton Farm Golf Club, and now Fairmount.
Women’s Golf Day is open to all NJSGA members and, for this event, non-members are also welcome to participate. The event will consist of a four-person team "Best-Ball-of-Four" competition - plus other fun formats. The entry fee is $145 per person; entries open on Monday, May 24 at 9:00 a.m. Women can sign up individually or with up to three friends. Multiple prizes will be awarded.
Established in 1921, the Morristown club is celebrating its milestone 100th anniversary this year. The club boasts a pristinely conditioned, state-of-the-art golf course and will host the 101st NJSGA Open Championship July 19-21.

Format: Players grouped in foursomes; Best-Ball-of-Four Net and Stableford scoring. Other format details TBD.
