Hart Medals in Final Qualifying Round for 121st New Jersey Amateur Championship
MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The final qualifying round for the 121st New Jersey Amateur Championship has concluded and 19 competitors advanced to the championship out of Rossmoor Golf Course on Monday afternoon.
Brian Hart, of Deal Golf & Country Club earned medalist honors, carding a 3-under par 69. Hart was a semifinalist in the 90th New Jersey Four-Ball Championship in May. His four-ball partner, Anthony Campanile will also be competing at the championship after qualifying out of Hawk Pointe.
“I just found a way to get around the golf course,” said Hart following his qualifying round. “I was hitting the ball really well early and not really cashing in on the opportunities. Then I started to make some putts and made a couple big par saves. Most good rounds you need to have a few par saves to kind of keep the momentum going.”
Hart knocked in birdies in three of his final four holes. Overall, Hart recorded six birdies and three bogeys on the day.
Brad Mills, Spencer Weiner and Edmund Broderick finished right behind Hart with a 2-under par 70.
The historic championship, which is presented by Provident Bank will be contested at Rockaway River Country Club from July 11-13, 2022. Michael Brown, having won the 90th Four-Ball Championship earlier this season will seek a repeat in the Amateur.
