Gotterup, of Rumson Country Club and Housen, of Manasquan River Golf Club did not look at the scoreboard all afternoon but their loose play and camaraderie helped lead them to the victory.

"I had an unbelievable partner today,” Gotterup expressed.

“He's a great partner,” Housen reiterated. “He's won the Senior Amateur twice in the last couple of years. It’s relaxing playing with him.”

The tandem recorded five birdies with just one blemish on the card.

“We knew it was tough out here, but there were some holes that were gettable,” Housen shared. "Atlantic City Country Club is a great place – just phenomenal. We were just enjoying the walk and the scenery.”

The field of 72 teams maneuvered around the gusty winds at the coastal South Jersey gem.

“It was probably a two-club wind on a couple of the par threes, so the wind definitely played a factor,” Housen recalled. “The course was firm and fast and we ham and egged it today. I had a good front nine and he had a good back nine.”
