Giovannoli Medals at Bowling Green in First Public Links Qualifier
OAK RIDGE, N.J. – The first qualifier for the 88th Public Links Championship concluded at Bowling Green Golf Club as Paul Giovannoli medaled with a 1-under par 71 on Wednesday.
“I just kept my head in it and said, 'as long as I just hit these hard to hit fairways and try and hit some greens, just keep my head in and try and make some birdies along the way."
Behind Giovannoli, Adam Satkowski carded an up and down round, but his 2-over 74 was more than enough to send him to Hominy Hill.
“I hadn't played it (Bowling Green) yet this year, but I've played it numerous times in the fall and throughout the last 10 years," explained Satkowski. "I definitely think there's an advantage knowing where to miss and knowing where to leave it on the greens.”
Overall, 18 players advanced to the championship, which will take place May 16-18 at Hominy Hill Golf Course.
The next qualifier for the 88th Public Links Championship will take place August 9th at Suneagles Golf Club.
