The Compher Cup was held for the first time in 1962 and is named for former NJSGA president, Frederic Compher, who donated the championship cup and conceived the idea of an interdistrict match with GAP to foster camaraderie and friendly competition between the associations. It has been held every year since, except for 2020 due to the pandemic (COVID-19).

Reigning New Jersey Pre-Senior Champion Michael O’Connell went undefeated on the afternoon, picking up victories in both of his singles and Four-Ball matches. Five competitors in Austin Deveruex, Gregg Angelillo, Michael Stamberger, O'Connell and Conor Casey won their singles matches, while Thomas Lee halved his match against Chris Ault.

GAP capitalized in the Four-Ball format, winning four of the six matches. Stamberger and Corey Brigham, 2022 New Jersey Public Links Champion halved their Four-Ball match.

The overall record of the historic Compher Cup goes in favor of the GAP, 41-14–5.
