Ganne Finishes as Low Amateur in U.S. Women's Open

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Seventeen year-old New Jersey phenom Megha Ganne of Holmdel earned low amateur honors on Sunday at the U.S. Women's Open, hosted by The Olympic Club. She tallied a four round total of 287 (+3) to finish in a tie for 14th. 

"I'm going to remember this for the rest of my life," Ganne expressed to media following her final round. "It's everything I've wanted since I was little, so it's just the best feeling."

Scoring

Ganne opened her final round with a 6-over 41 on the front, before coming back a firing an even par 36 on the back to close out her second appearance in a U.S. Women's Open. 

"Oh, it was just electric," Ganne said of the fans at The Olympic Club. "I can't thank all these fans enough. They've made my week so much better than it could have been. I just felt like there was so much love and so much support, and all of them are really excited to be out here, which is so great to see because I feel like in a small way I'm making an impact on the game, which is really cool."

Marina Alex wrapped up her seventh U.S. Women's Open appearance finishing in a tie for 26th, posting a final round 76.
