Galloping Hill Site Of Women's Instructional Event
A group of nearly 80 women were treated to a full day of instruction on Tuesday, May 12, at Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth.
For a third straight year, employees of Friedman LLP, a public accounting firm with offices in New York City and Long Island and in the New Jersey locales of East Hanover, Toms River, Marlton and Linwood, learned about the fundamentals of golf, and then some.
The event was sponsored by Friedman’s Women’s Development Network, which offers an array of programs that help cultivate professional and personal growth for women at the firm.
“This is a great experience for everybody. The pros are great working with everyone,” said Jaclyn Eastlack of Friedman LLP, who lives in Cherry Hill.
“We have a women’s development network at our company and golf for women was recommended,” she said. “Women learning golf provides a level playing field.”
The Tuesday event, one of a series of women’s golf clinics scheduled for this year at Galloping Hill, included a morning instructional from 9:30 to 11:50 a.m., followed by lunch. In the afternoon, women could choose between more instruction or play nine holes at Galloping Hills executive course.
Galloping Hill head pro Damion Hamlett oversaw the instruction sessions.
Noelene Sheridan of Friedman LLP stated: “Golf is a networking opportunity. You never know who you will meet on a golf course. It’s been working for men for countless years.“
In August, Friedman LLP has its annual company golf outing at Knob Hill Golf Club in Manalapan. Many women experiencing Galloping Hill will be able to put their golf skills to the test as part of the 250 golfers who tackle Knob Hill that day.”
