WASHINGTON, N.J. - Five women will head to Bel-Air Country Club for the 123rd U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship from August 7-13 after an 18-hole qualifier on Tuesday at Hawk Pointe Golf Club. Megan Meng (Pennington, N.J.), Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.), Katie Cranston (Canada), Samantha Galantini (West Orange, N.J.) and Madeleine Zang (Princeton, N.J.) all earned their spot at the 2023 U.S. Amateur after qualifying.

Meng recorded a 4-under 68 en route to medalist honors. On the front nine, Meng recorded a 3-under par 33, which was highlighted by four birdies. She followed that up with a blemish-free back nine.

“It was a lot of my short game and also like my approaches, I had a lot of the same yardages on a lot of the holes, so I think it was just trusting the clubs,” Meng said of her round.

The Northwestern University commit will be making her debut in the U.S. Women’s Amateur.

“I'm really excited,” Meng exclaimed. “This has been a big goal and dream for me. I'm really excited to be going to LA (Los Angeles).

Rogowicz and Cranston both fired 2-under par 70. Galantini, a New Jersey native punched her ticket to her first-ever USGA Championship.

“I haven't played well on this course in the past, so it feels good to finally play well and one day qualify and play well,” Galantini reflected.

Her round was highlighted by four birdies. Her brother, Tyler, served as her caddie for the 18-hole contest.

"In the past it’s not helpful, but today it was,” Galantini said of having her brother caddie for her. “He was very calm and we would just talk about like random things and it was really good.”

For the final qualifying spot, Madeleine Zang bested Samantha Perrotta. Perrotta claimed the first alternate spot, while Riley Quartermain grabbed the second alternate spot after recording a 73 and defeating Rebecca DiNunzio in a playoff.
