JUNE 30, 2023 - The famed Dennis Walters Golf Show comes to the Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell on Wednesday, July 26 as part of a day-long celebration of golf in New Jersey. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and will coincide with the final round of the NJSGA Open Championship at Hackensack and is certain to be memorable.

The Dennis Walters Golf Show is open to the general public, however those interested in attending must RSVP by clicking here. For groups larger than four who wish to attend, please email Mike McAneny (mikem@njsga.org) for more information.

Walters, a native of Neptune, N.J., is one of golf’s best-known celebrities. After being paralyzed from the waist-down in a 1973 golf cart accident, Walters began a personal mission to teach golf and life lessons through his popular Dennis Walters Golf Show. The show, which is one hour in duration, consists of trick shots - done by Walters - from a specially-outfitted golf cart. He is accompanied by his rescue dog, Gussie, who claps after a successful golf shot and retrieves golf balls.

According to his web site, the show is much more than a golf exhibition. Walters tells his story and encourages others to reach for their dreams, strive for excellence and do something they didn't think they could. He uses his own personal experience as an example to challenge each person to do something in their life that they thought might be impossible – and with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, anything can be achieved.

Inducted in 2019 to both the World Golf Hall of Fame and the NJSGA Hall of Fame, Walters has traveled more than 3.5 million miles to all 50 states, Mexico, Canada and the U.K., where he has amazed audiences at over 3,000 performances. He is accompanied at each show by one of his canine rescue pals and typically amasses 90-100 shows per year.

Those who attend the Dennis Walters Golf Show are invited to remain for the conclusion of the final round of the 103rd NJSGA Open Championship presented by Donnelly Industries that afternoon. Information, groupings and starting times for the Open Championship will be available at NJSGA.org in the coming days.
