Twenty-two players recorded a round of 75 or better on Monday afternoon and will advance to compete in the Mid-Amateur Championship which will be held at Deal Golf & Country Club from June 6-8.

Anthony Campanile earned medalist honors carding a 4-under par 67 to top the leaderboard.

“I just really stayed patient with the wind. It’s the first time I’ve ever played Mendham so I just wanted to keep it in front of me and avoid any penalty areas,” said Campanile.

Campanile played a blemish-free round highlighted by a stretch of four birdies in five holes to start his back-nine.

“I was steady and hit it off the tee fine. I was in play most of the day and hit 16 greens,” said Campanile. “I made four birdies, so it was good enough and had a couple nice two putts. It was nothing special, but it was pretty steady all day.”
