NJSGA Caddie Scholarship and NJSGA Evans Scholarship Applications to Close on October 15
KENILWORTH, N.J. - The deadline to apply for the New Jersey State Golf Association Caddie Scholarship and the NJSGA Evans Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year is October 15, 2023.
New to the 2024-25 scholarship process is the online application portal. Paper applications will no longer be accepted.
The NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Committee reviews applications based upon the following criteria:
- Academic record
- Financial need
- Qualities of character and leadership
- Club's financial support of the Foundation
The NJSGA CSF has been a shining light for over 76 years in providing financial assistance to deserving member club caddies pursuing higher education. Since 1947, it has provided more than 3,400 scholarships totaling more than $18 million. For the 2023-24 academic year, the Foundation will provide 150 caddies with over $800,000 in scholarships. Caddie scholars are selected based on their academic performance, financial need, and length and quality of service as a caddie. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.
The 150 Caddie Scholars for the academic year 2023-24 represent 84 colleges and universities.
NJSGA/Evans Scholarship
NJSGA Evans Scholarship recipients are awarded full tuition and housing scholarships, which are co-sponsored by the ESF and the NJSGA CSF. For the 2023-24 academic year, there are 20 NJSGA Evans Scholars enrolled in school. Applications close on October 15, 2023.
To be considered for a NJSGA/Evans Caddie Scholarship, students must meet the following:
- Strong caddie record: Applicants must have caddied, regularly and successfully, for a minimum of two years and are expected to caddie at their sponsoring club the year they apply for the Scholarship.
- Excellent academics: Applicants must have completed their junior year of high school with above a B average in college preparatory courses. The ACT and SAT will be optional for 2023 applicants.
- Demonstrated financial need: Applicants must clearly have a need for financial assistance.
- Outstanding character: Applicants must be outstanding in character, integrity and leadership.
