KENILWORTH, NEW JERSEY – Brian R. Hunt, currently the Secretary of the New Jersey State Golf Association and a longtime member of the NJSGA Board of Trustees and Caddie Scholarship Committee, has been named Chairman of the NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Foundation (CSF).
A member of Upper Montclair Country Club (UMCC), Hunt joined the Caddie Scholarship Foundation as UMCC’s representative in 2010. Since his appointment as UMCC’s representative, the club has consistently been among the top-five NJSGA member clubs in total annual contributions to the CSF and is perennially among the top-five in total individual Par Club members (contributors of $100 or greater each year).
“Being named chairman of the Caddie Scholarship Foundation is exciting and humbling, and I’m honored to follow in the footsteps of many great people. Our caddie scholarships have helped to open doors for more than 3,000 students since the foundation was started in 1947. I look forward to working with our club reps and clubs who's generous support has provided to so many young men and women opportunities to change their lives. These scholarships have true meaning to both the students and their families, and it is gratifying to be part of making this possible.”
Hunt, who lives in Little Falls, N.J. with his wife, Irene, has a daughter and an seven-year-old granddaughter. He succeeds Benjamin M. Del Vento of Baltusrol Golf Club who had served as chairman of the CSF since January of 2017.
The NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Foundation has been a shining light for over 74 years in providing financial assistance to deserving member club caddies pursuing higher education. Since 1947, it has provided more than $15 million in college scholarship awards to over 3,000 caddies.
