Baltusrol Golf Club 2012 Caddie Scholarship Club Of The Year
On October, 18, 2012 at Crestmont Country Club, West Orange, NJ, Baltusrol Golf Club was honored at the 2012 NJPGA/NJSGA Celebration of Golf. Baltusrol was awarded the title of "Caddie Scholarship Club of the Year" by the NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Foundation. Former NJSGA president, caddie scholar alumnus, current Foundation Trustee, and Baltusrol member, Tom Paluck accepted the award on behalf of Baltusrol Golf Club.
Foundation Chairman, Ed Batta announced "the Springfield, NJ golf club displaced Rock Spring Club by the barest of margins to make good on their goal to be number one in total dollars contributed in 2011." Baltusrol ended a decade-long reign by Rock Spring with a total of $52, 950. Among being the Top Par Club Contributor, the Club earned the title of Caddie Scholarship Club of the Year also for their dedication to the program, caddie scholar participation, and commitment to preserving the tradition of keeping the caddie in golf.
At the NJSGA 111th Annual Meeting at Canoe Brook a week earlier, Ed Batta recognized several other clubs who made significant increases in contribution. "Notable were the performances of Canoe Brook and Echo Lake, both of whom achieved new club records for dollars contributed" he announced. "I'm pleased to report that thus far in 2012, Manasquan River, our host club for thus year's State Open,has come through with a supurb performance, surpassing $40, 000 in club contributions."
